Bradford City have confirmed that Stuart McCall has returned to the club for a third stint as manager.

The 55-year-old managed the Bantams between 2007 and 2010 and then for a second spell between 2016 and 2018, taking the club to the League One play-off final in the latter.

As a player, McCall made 395 appearances for the Bantams in two separate spells, as well as turning out for Everton, Rangers and Sheffield United.

City currently sit one point outside the play-offs and seven points outside the automatic promotion places following just one win in eight games, a run that saw Gary Bowyer dismissed on Monday.

The Bantams have just 15 games remaining of the League Two season and will be desperate for McCall to record his first promotion for the club at the third time of asking.

Just after 10am today, the club broke the news via their official Twitter page, sparking a big reaction from the City faithful.

Plenty of City fans were clearly delighted with this news, with plenty of fans suggesting how happy they were to welcome back McCall.

Here we take a look at some of the best responses to the 55-year-old’s third managerial appointment with the club…
