Leeds United moved top of the Championship table following their dramatic 5-4 win against Birmingham City at St. Andrew's on Sunday.

United looked set to cruise to a straightforward victory when Jack Harrison put the Whites two goals to the good after 21 minutes, but Marcelo Bielsa's men made hard work of the contest and surrendered their lead three times.

The game looked set to finish as a stunning 4-4 draw, but Leeds sealed all three points thanks to a Wes Harding own goal deep into injury time.

United are now top of the Championship on goal difference, following West Bromwich Albion's defeat to Middlesbrough on Sunday, and travel to the Hawthorns for a mouthwatering clash on New Year's Day.

Given the euphoria of yesterday's result, many Leeds players took to social media to express their excitement and delight to the stunning win over Birmingham.

Leading the celebrations was captain Liam Cooper who tweeted around an hour after the full-time whistle.

Via his Twitter account, the skipper said: "Some might say the Leeds United way! CHARACTER and SPIRIT was unbelievable. ALAW."

As ever, the captain's tweet was flooded with plenty of replies from Leeds fans, most of them buoyant about their side's exhilarating win.

Many were quick to agree with Cooper about the character shown and expressed their delight at the side not letting their heads drop.
