Sheffield Wednesday are closing in on the loan signing of Derby County forward Jack Marriott according to Yorkshire Live. 

Marriott will undergo a medical at Sheffield Wednesday's training ground ahead of a season-long loan move to the Owls, who have been in the market for a striker in recent weeks.

Garry Monk only has Jordan Rhodes as his senior striking option at the moment, so strength in depth was certainly needed in that area of the squad.

Marriott struggled for consistent game time last season with Derby, and will be hoping he can make a positive impact with Wednesday this term.
