Back in 2017, Leeds United embarked on yet another summer rebuild job, as the Whites lined up a shot at promotion under then new manager Thomas Christiansen. 

The Yorkshire outfit were keen to get off to a good start to the season and the summer saw them add various new names to the ranks in the hope of putting together a squad with enough quality to challenge at the upper end of the Championship.

One of those signings was goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, who moved to Elland Road from German side Werder Bremen and arrived with high expectations amongst Leeds fans.

The stopper was expected to be someone who would solidify the goalkeeping position at Elland Road and make the number one spot his own, but Wiedwald proved to be a poor signing, and made numerous high profile errors which would ultimately cost him his place in the Championship.

While his time at Leeds will no doubt be remembered as a poor one, at the time the Whites fans seemed to be delighted with the club for adding a player which at the time looked an astute piece of business.
