It has been a disappointing season in the Championship for Aston Villa, who will hope for a promotion charge next season.

Many thought the Villains would struggle in the Championship given their horrific season in the Premier League last year that saw them finish bottom of the table.

There was hope, however, when Randy Lerner stepped aside as owner of the club and allowed the popular and extremely rich Tony Xia to take charge of the club.

It's clear that big business needs to be done this summer if Steve Bruce does want to return the club to the Premier League, and perhaps part of that should be allowing rough diamond Jack Grealish to leave, as he continues to struggle to get into the first team consistently.

If Grealish did leave, it would free up even greater funds for Bruce to play with, and here are THREE names he should be looking at....

Jota

Villa's wide options don't appear to be particularly extensive or convincing, especially if Grealish were to leave.

Therefore, they should bring in Brentford's Jota to beef up their options and add some quality.

Many Brentford fans will tell you that they'd be in the play offs if Jota had been there all season, and that is truly testament to the awesome quality of this player.

The Bees have really flown since the Spaniard returned from his loan spell at Eibar in January, and he could be an absolute star at Villa next year.

Marc Roberts

Villa poached two of Barnsley's star players in January in the form of Conor Hourihane and James Bree, and should make it a third this summer by bringing in Marc Roberts.

The centre half has been nothing short of outstanding this season and has been one of the division's top performers in his position.

Burnley attempted to bring him to the Premier League in January, showing the quality this boy has, and Villa should certainly be looking to bring him and boost their back line.

Adam Federici

The Australian goalkeeper's Bournemouth career looks over as they attempt to lure Asmir Begovic to the club this summer, meaning Federici will be Eddie Howe's third choice between the sticks.

The 31-year-old showed his outstanding quality at Reading where he won player of the season the year before he was picked up on a free transfer by the Cherries.

With loanee Sam Johnstone not appearing to convince on loan at Villa Park, Steve Bruce would be wise to pick up Federici, who would no doubt be a cheap and quality option.
