Preston North End manager Simon Grayson has highlighted Leeds United’s top goalscorer Chris Wood as a “handful” ahead of their showdown at Elland Road tomorrow, reports Yorkshire Evening Post journalist, Lee Sobot.

Grayson’s side head to Elland Road looking to keep their Play-Off hopes alive against one of the Sky Bet Championship’s high-flyers.

North End are currently eighth in the table, five-points behind sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday and eight behind Leeds, who are fifth.

Victory over Garry Monk’s side tomorrow, will give Preston a real chance of breaking into the top-six with five fixtures of the season remaining.

Grayson, who had a spell managing Leeds between 2008 and 2012, highlighted both Wood and Pablo Hernandez as men North End need to be wary of tomorrow, he said: “The big threat which jumps straight out at you is Chris Wood, the leading scorer in the division. He's a handful.

"Pablo Hernandez is a clever player and they have a lot of experience in their squad."

Wood has been exceptional this season, scoring 27 goals across all competitions, including 24 in the Championship.

However, the 25-year old has not scored in his last two league outings, as Leeds suffered back-to-back defeats against Reading and Brentford.

North End will be confident of adding to Leeds’ woes, having recorded an emphatic 5-0 victory over Bristol City on Tuesday evening.
