Hull City manager Grant McCann has urged the club's supporters to stick together and remain united after the end of a disappointing week.

The Tigers fell to their fourth straight defeat on Saturday afternoon, losing 5-1 to high-flying Brentford at the KCOM Stadium thanks to strikes from Said Benrahma, Ollie Watkins and a Reece Burke own goal.

This marked the end of what had been a very disappointing week for the Tigers, who lost talismen Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki on Deadline Day to West Ham and West Brom respectively.

As they fell to a 5-1 home defeat on Saturday afternoon, chants of "We Want Allam out" and "Where's the money gone?" were heard, directed at Assem and Ehab Allam.

Hull fans are very unhappy with the ownership of the club, and only 10,034 attended the match which was their second lowest crowd of the campaign to date.

Via the Hull Daily Mail after the game, McCann urged fans to stick together, saying: "It’s very important for everyone to stick together. We’ve tried to bring this club back together and we have done.

"But, as with any football club, when one or two of the so-called better players leave, then it does cause a wee bit of unrest. But we always have a contingency and we’ve shown that with the recruitment.

"Maybe that was a reason for the performance but we have to stick together. I’ve said that from day one and we will."

Hull's push for the play-offs has now somewhat derailed, with the Tigers sitting 14th in the Championship table - 11 points off the top six and 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

The Verdict

It doesn't look like it's going to be a positive end to the season for Hull, and losing two players as good and as important as Bowen and Grosicki could prove to be detrimental.

They sold both players at difficult times where it's practically impossible to replace them, and I wouldn't have trusted the club to replace them either.

There needs to be a good relationship between fans and the board, but it doesn't look like improving any time soon.
