Hull City will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Championship when they take on Middlesbrough this weekend.

The Tigers were beaten by league leaders West Brom before the international break, and will fancy their chances of coming away from The Riverside with a positive result.

Grant McCann's side are currently sat 12th in the league table, whilst Boro occupy one of the spots on the relegation zone heading towards the festive period.

Speaking in a pre-match press conference ahead of the game on Sunday, McCann isn't underestimating their opponents this weekend, and labelled Middlesbrough as a 'tough team' when on home soil.

"I expect to play a confident Middlesbrough team. They’re a tough team to play at home but we’re focused on what we’re doing."

Hull had won their previous three matches before their defeat to West Brom, so it's clear to see that they have shown improvement as the season has progressed.

The Tigers are only six points adrift of the play-off places, and they'll surely be quietly confident of reaching the top-six if they can put a positive run of form together, starting with a win over Middlesbrough.

The Verdict:

I'm surprised to see McCann label Middlesbrough as a tough team to play at home.

They've been better at home than they have on their troubles, but Middlesbrough have really struggled to find any sort of consistency in terms of positive results so far in this year's league campaign.

Hull should go their full of confidence, and I think the Tigers will come away from The Riverside with three points to keep them in touch with the play-off chasing sides in the Championship.
