Grant McCann has confirmed that a new attacking player will be joining Hull early next week.

The Tigers boss remained tight lipped on who it would be joining the club, but has confirmed that the player will help the side with the flexibility of the front three.

It could well be a major boost for the side, as they look to mount a challenge on the play-off places having been on a good run of form until Saturday's home defeat to Fulham.

Hull will also be hoping to keep hold of the incredibly talented Jarrod Bowen, who remains one of the best players in the division.

McCann has expressed that the player should come in to the club by Monday or Tuesday, and that he'll be a good signing for the Tigers.

Speaking to Hull Live, McCann said: "There’ll be a new player in on Monday or Tuesday.

"The fee has been agreed with the club and the new player will be on Monday or Tuesday after a medical.

"It’ll be a good signing for us. We talk about the flexibility in the front three and hopefully he can bring that."

The Verdict

It'll be interesting to see who it is and how much he can benefit this Hull side as they look to try and challenge the top six over the next few months. Sometimes one of the front three needs a rest, so this would give them a lot more options going forward for the rest of the campaign.

The Tigers have been good this season, and have had a much better campaign than the last but they do still need a bit more in their squad to make them any sort of promotion challengers.

Hull will see this as an opportunity this campaign, with the Championship being so close together. If they can get a few more wins together, then who knows maybe they can get into the top six.
