Swansea are in talks with long-term Leeds United transfer target, Daniel James over potentially extending his deal with the Swans.
Graham Potter broke the news in an interview with the club’s website, and this move will certainly come as a surprise to Leeds supporters.
James has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road, and his move to the promotion chasing Whites only fell through due to Swansea reportedly not confirming the deal.
The Welsh youngster even passed a medical with Leeds, and it’s likely that he would be hugely frustrated by the deal not being finalised between the two clubs.
It was also revealed by Potter that the club are in talks with Leroy Fer and Mike Van Der Hoorn over new deals, but it remains to be seen as to whether the offer will be accepted.
“The club are speaking with Mike and chatting with Dan as well.”
It’s sure to be an interesting couple of weeks, to see if he any developments will be made in these contract talks, as James has made it no secret that he wants to join Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
I would be stunned if he penned a new deal with Swansea.
James made it no secret that he wanted to move to Leeds in January, and he’s likely to be frustrated over the move falling through because of Swansea.
It would make no sense for him to sign a new contract.
