Swansea have been linked with a move for Tottenham's Cameron Carter-Vickers, and manager Graham Potter has been updating fans on the latest developments.

The 20-year old centre back is strongly rumoured to be on the Swans radar and Potter has revealed he is optimistic of bringing someone in, but that the deal isn't moving at present.

"I am optimistic [of getting players in]," he told Wales Online. "There's nothing to report, we are working all the time. I am not worried, I am focusing on the game tomorrow and we will carry on with trying to strengthen. There are wheels turning and we keep working to strengthen the group. We will keep working."

When pressed to discuss the Spurs defender, Potter was coy to do so, replying:

"Again I don’t want to speak about guys who are not here. This is just how I am. Nice try! He is not our player."

The Spurs defender is an American international, having been spotted playing for Spurs development side in a match against the USA U17 side.

He had eligibility for an American passport and has since made four appearances for them, despite being born in Southend on Sea.

He's previously spent time in the Championship with Sheffield United and Ipswich.

The Verdict

This looks like a deal that is going to happen, but it seems to be a question of timing.

Spurs might be holding out for other interest, or the player might be hoping for something a little closer to London before committing his immediate future to the Swans.

He will be plying his trade in the Championship by September though, that much is almost certain.
