Swansea City boss Graham Potter is set to become the new manager of Brighton and is keen to take winger Daniel James with him to new his club, according to a report by TEAMtalk.

Potter is the favourite to succeed Chris Hughton at Brighton, who was sacked earlier this week, despite keeping the club in the Premier League and helping them reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup this season.

The Swansea boss is on the verge of completing a move to the AMEX Stadium and has reportedly told the club's owners that he wants to move to the Premier League club, but this latest report also states that he wants to bring highly-rated winger James with him.

James has been one of the stand-out performers for the Swans in the Championship this season and has been linked with moves to a host of Premier League clubs, most recently, he was heavily linked with a big switch to Manchester United.

Potter has reportedly told the 21-year-old that a move to Brighton would be better for his development and that he would have a greater chance of making an impact for the first-team.

The Verdict:

Potter is a good manager and deserves credit for the way he has been able to guide Swansea to a top-half finish in the Championship on a limited budget this season.

This would be a smart move if he can persuade James to move to Brighton with him and he could be a good signing for the Seagulls.

At this stage of his career, James needs to be playing regular first-team football, so perhaps a move to Brighton would suit him.
