West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he does not plan on recalling Grady Diangana from his loan spell West Bromwich Albion in January.

Diangana joined West Brom on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day at the end of August and has been one of the standout players for Albion so far this season, playing a key role in their promising start to the campaign under Slaven Bilic

The 21-year-old winger has been able to establish himself as one of the standout players in the entire Championship, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 13 league appearances for the Baggies.

His impressive displays for West Brom have led to reports that West Ham will decided to recall him from his loan spell in January, with Pellegrini looking to boost his attacking options ahead of the second half of the campaign.

However, the West Ham manager has now confirmed he does not plan on recalling Diangana in January and claimed that remaining at the Hawthorns until the end of the season is the best thing for the player's development.

“I think that Grady is doing what we wanted for him, same as Josh Cullen. He’s a player without any doubt will be part of West Ham in the future,” Pellegrini said at his press conference on Thursday, as quoted by Birmingham Live.

“I trust a lot in Grady and I think it was better for him to go and play 40 games this season and be ready for next season, than to play here just some games. I think he must finish his season where he is.”

Diangana made 21 appearances for West Ham in all competitions last season - including 17 in the Premier League - and scored twice on his debut against Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup.

The Verdict

This is excellent news for West Brom fans, as they'll be all too aware of how Leicester City's decision to recall Harvey Barnes last season derailed their automatic promotion push.

Diangana is a special talent and he's been one of the standout players for West Brom in the Championship this season. He's an exciting young player and he's got bags of potential - he could have a very big future ahead of him at West Ham.

However, I agree with Pellegrini. I don't think there's any need for West Ham to recall him - I'm not sure he's ready to make an impact in the top flight yet and it would be far more beneficial for him to spend the whole season in the Championship.
