Nottingham Forest host Sheffield Wednesday at the City Ground tonight, with the hosts desperate to get a win to climb up the table.

The Reds started the season as one of the favourites for promotion after high-profile recruitment this summer.

However, things haven't really gone to plan, with Aitor Karanka's side only winning one of their seven games so far in the campaign.

And, they won't have it all their own way against a Sheffield Wednesday side that have seriously picked up in recent weeks.

Jos Luhukay's men head to the East Midlands unbeaten in five and they know a victory could see them move into the top six.

Therefore, it should be a close game between two good sides. But, who would make a combined XI between these two sides?

We take a look...

The big stopper has proven himself to be a very capable stopper and has had some important moments as a Forest player.

Unfortunately for Forest, the on-loan West Ham will miss tonight's game, along with many more through injury.

However, when fit he is a top player at this level and Karanka will be desperate to have him back.

The Owls centre-back has been fantastic for Wednesday over the years and is a leader on the pitch too.

Similarly, Hefele is a big personality for Forest and someone who has won promotion from this league before with Huddersfield, where he was a commanding figure.

Robinson is a tough, uncomprimising left-back who is very strong defensively and looks to get forward as well.

On his day, many would argue that the Algerian is the most complete midfielder in the league.

He has bite, looks to drive forward and has great technical ability, making him a quality option.

Another standout midfielder in the league is Bannan. He has been flying in recent weeks and is one of the main reasons for their upturn in form.

The former Watford man is a quality option at this level but will miss this clash through suspension.

It's a major boost for Forest as the Argentinian has the ability to unlock their defence.

The big-money summer signing hasn't contributed with enough goals or assists this season but his quality is there to see.

Carvalho will need more time to settle but once he does he will become a key player for Forest and their main creative threat.

Reach is a very good player in the Championship, boasting a quality left-foot and good energy.

Picking a striker is a tough choice given most from both teams are not performing that well.

On form yover the past 18 months you'd have to go with Lewis Grabban, however he's struggled this season and is without a goal in six games, so we will opt for Joao who has three so far this campaign.

As well as that, he has good pace and mobility which makes him a threat.
