Brentford finally picked up their first Championship away victory of the season as they beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough thanks to the in-form Ivan Toney.

Thomas Frank's side had collected just one point from their two away matches, but were thankful to another Toney brace which moved them up to 7th in the league standings.

The former Peterborough striker reacted first to a loose ball to put the Bees in front before the Londoners were pegged back less than 20 minutes later after Callum Paterson nodded home.

However, the night belonged to Toney, who scored again on the half-hour mark to ensure Brentford made the long midweek trip back to the capital with maximum points.

The brace was Toney's third in consecutive matches, and means he's now bagged seven in total for the campaign - two more than Blackburn's Adam Armstrong, which puts him top of the Championship goalscoring charts.

Toney was tasked with replacing Ollie Watkins, who joined Aston Villa last month, and the 24-year-old is so far doing an outstanding job for Frank.
