Sheffield United fans will be looking ahead to their first campaign back in the Championship after six years and now have learnt their opponents for the next twelve months.
The fixtures were released early on Wednesday morning and the Blades discovered they will be welcoming Brentford to Bramall Lane on the opening match of the season, which is then followed by two away trips to Middlesbrough and across the border into Wales to play Cardiff City.
The Steel City derby makes an anticipated return as United and Sheffield Wednesday battle against each other at Hillsborough in late September and then again in January.
Chris Wilder’s men can also look forward to hosting relegated Sunderland on Boxing Day, meanwhile the Yorkshire outfit end the 2017/18 campaign on the road at Ashton Gate as they travel to Bristol City.
It would seem to be a mixed reaction, but here is how supporters reacted to their fixtures following the release…..
