It’s safe to say that Leeds United have had their fair share of memorable goals over the years, but there are some that standout above the rest.
Dominic Matteo’s goal against AC Milan at the San Siro in Leeds’ Champions League Group Stage game is definitely up there for the majority of the Elland Road faithful.
Today marks the 19th anniversary of that goal in Italy, and Leeds took to Twitter to look back at one of the key moments in their history.
The Whites went on to reach the Semi-Final of Europe’s greatest competition, as they were eventually beaten by Valenica over two legs.
Leeds will be looking to make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this season under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, and they’ve put themselves in a strong position to do just that, with the Whites currently sat third in the Championship table.
Plenty of Leeds United fans took to Twitter to issue their thoughts on Matteo’s memorable goal against AC Milan.

Fantastic night. The after match karaoke will live in the memory as long as I live. The bond between the players and fan's was something else.
