Garry Monk has done a terrific job with Birmingham City since taking over at the club last season. 

He has successfully galvanised what was a fragmented club and one where the fans felt no affinity with the team they saw every weekend.

Before the season began, many were tipping the Blues to be right in the middle of a relegation scrap, given that is where they were last season, but that has not been the case.

Halfway through the campaign and they sit just four points outside the top-six and two places above arch-rivals Aston Villa with a promotion push now very much on the cards.

This weekend, however, sees Monk's side in FA Cup action as they travel to East London to face West Ham United.

It is a match that could well see a significant upset and the Blues are clearly going for it with just one change made to last weekend's starting XI as Connor Mahoney comes in for Jota.

As much as they admire the strength of the squad, the St. Andrews faithful could not help but be put off by the omission of their Spanish winger.
