Bristol City's interest in Wigan Athletic forward Josh Windass is "inaccurate", according to Bristol Post journalist Gregor MacGregor.

The Daily Mail reported that the BS3 side were one of a handful of clubs keeping an eye on the 26-year-old Wigan attacker, who has found the net four times this season for the Latics.

Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City were also reported to be the others keen on the former Rangers player.

However, the Bristol Post writer tweeted on Friday morning that the club in fact have no interest at all in the forward, despite the reports suggesting otherwise.

The 26-year-old is the son of former Hull City striker, Dean Windass, who scored the winning goal for the Tigers in the 2008 Championship play-off final against the Robins.
