Bradford City released eleven players yesterday following their relegation out of League One.

The Bantams slid helplessly down the table against a backdrop of boardroom upheaval and manager changes, eventually finding themselves relegated with four matches to go of the normal season.

Gary Bowyer was unable to prevent the drop, but he's remaining with the club through the summer and is keen to sweep the deck of those he feels contributed to their horror season, or perhaps didn't do enough to prevent it.

That means that Adam Chicksen, Ryan McGowan, Ben Wilson, Billy Clarke, Alex Jones, Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Calum Woods, Cameron Hawkes, Callum Gunner, Tom Clare and Paul Caddis are all now looking for new clubs

The news has been widely applauded by the long-suffering Bantams fans, who saw Edin Rahic removed as chairman, but not before the damage was done.

They're now looking to the future, hoping for a promotion charge led by Bowyer and whoever he opts to bring in to the squad.
