‘Good riddance,’ ‘Now go replace him’ – Nottingham Forest fans react as £15m striker departs

After avoiding relegation by the narrowest of margins in the Sky Bet Championship last season, Nottingham Forest were bound to make significant changes over the summer.
Mark Warburton is preparing for his first full season with the club, but has been dealt a blow, with Britt Assombalonga leaving the City Ground for Middlesbrough in a £15m deal.
Assombalonga’s 14 goals in the Championship last season were vital to helping Forest avoid a return to League One, and Warburton’s side will miss the 24-year-old’s presence.
Since arriving at Forest in 2014, Assombalonga has scored 30 goals in just 65 Championship appearances, becoming one of the division’s most prolific strikers.
Whilst Forest fans are gutted about Assombalonga’s departure, some are looking at the positives, calling for the mammoth £15m transfer-fee to be reinvested in the squad.
Here is some Forest reaction…
Actually gutted assombalonga has gone #NFFC

In 2003 #mufc got Ronaldo for £12 million.
In 2017 #boro have got Assombalonga from #nffc for £15 million..

Hope that's not the case btw, but don't think he's ever been as sharp since before his layoff. £15m is good money if we re-invest wisely

#assombalonga leaves #NFFC Gutted but hey ho. Long term stability means more and at the end of the day life will carry on and so will #NFFC

Can't complain if it hit his buy out clause. Got good money that I'm sure these owners will reinvest. Weaker without him, now go replace him

Forest fans… What do you think of Assombalonga’s move? Will the money be reinvested? Let us know your thoughts!
