Nottingham Forest are slowly improving under Chris Hughton - and extended their unbeaten Championship run to three matches in Friday's East Midland's derby at the City Ground.

Forest had previously lost their opening four league games, which eventually saw the back of former manager Sabri Lamouchi, who was sacked three days after the 2-1 defeat at to Bristol City at the beginning of October.

However, Hughton has steadied the ship and picked up five points from a possible nine available to help steer Forest away from the relegation-zone.

And there appears some even better news for Hughton ahead of Wednesday's trip to Luton Town after BBC Nottingham Sport reported on Sunday afternoon that last season's top goalscorer, Lewis Grabban, won't be linking up with former manager Lamouchi at Al Duhail despite strong links to the Qatari outfit in recent days.

Grabban scored 20 times in the Championship last season, although his goals weren't enough to help Forest clinch a top-six place.

But the former Aston Villa and Bournemouth striker has come under fire this season having failed to net in his eight appearances in all competitions this term. However, the news of Grabban's future has certainly been well-received from plenty of the Forest faithful.
