Sheffield Wednesday have posted footage of captain Tom Lees back in training, which has drawn an interesting reaction from many fans of the Yorkshire club.
The centre-back has not featured for the Owls since he picked up an injury in the warm-up ahead of the 2-1 loss to QPR in August, meaning he has not played under new boss Garry Monk.
In Lees’ absence, Dominic Iorfa has stepped up and has been extremely impressive–helping Wednesday to pick up 15 points from eight matches, including keeping four clean sheets.
Which centre-back duo should Monk go with against Blackburn?
For the most part, Iorfa has partnered Julian Borner at the heart of the Owls defence but after the German tweaked his ankle prior to the Leeds clash Sam Hutchinson had to step in.
Iorfa produced another classy performance against the Whites and ensured that they were unable to find the net at Hillsborough.
Borner has suggested that he doesn’t think his injury will be too serious, while it appears Lees is very close to a return.
The club posted footage of the 28-year-old back in training today.

The post appears to have caused some discussion amongst the Hillsborough faithful, with some Wednesday fans happy he is nearly back and others suggesting he shouldn’t be guaranteed a starting place.

Good to see him back, more competition for the role now, either the current lads kick on or Lees proves why the role should be his. Either way it’s good news for us.
