Nottingham Forest could be in for quite the season following the news that super agent Jorge Mendes sees the club as his next 'project' in the Championship, following last season's successful spell with Wolves.

The news comes courtesy of respected journalist Alan Nixon, who has provided the update on Twitter, saying that any Mendes players linked with Forest now need to be 'taken seriously'.

Forest have already made a big money move this summer for Joao Carvalho, who completed a massive £13m move to the City Ground this week, along with young star Diogo Goncalves, who joined the Reds on a loan deal with a view to a permanent move next summer.

And now with news emerging of Mendes looking to do with the club what he did with Wolves, it could well be an exciting summer for the two time European Cup winners.

Manager Aitor Karanka will be looking to utilise all the tools at his disposal this term as he looks to guide Forest towards a playoff place after two seasons of struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Mendes brought in plenty of talent to Wolves last season which ultimately led to the club being promoted back to the Premier League under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
