Bristol City midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson is edging close to a move to Ipswich Town this month, as per a report from Football Insider.

The report states that the Tractor Boys are keen on bringing the 23-year-old to Portman Road on a temporary basis, as the League One outfit continue chasing the play-off positions.

Bakinson has amassed 855 minutes of Championship action for the Robins this season, however, he has played just 14 minutes in Bristol City's last five Championship outings.

The 23-year-old, who joined the Robins from Luton Town back in 2017, has gone on to feature 54 times for the Robins since his debut later that year.

Bakinson enjoyed excellent loan spells with Newport County and Plymouth Argyle in League Two during his rise to the first team stage at Ashton Gate, drawing a lot of excitement in the process.

Predominantly operating as a holding midfielder, Bakinson has proven that he is competent enough to play in a more advanced position when required.

It remains to be seen what kind of season it may be for the Robins, with Nigel Pearson's side sitting 12 points from the play-offs and 11 above the relegation zone.

With Bakinson out of favour and Ipswich casting their eyes over him, here, we take a look at how Bristol City fans on Twitter have reacted to this latest update...
