Leeds United defender Leif Davis has sent a message after signing a new long-term deal at the club, which has drawn an excited response from fans of the Yorkshire club.

The 19-year-old became the latest in a string of Whites players to commit their future to the club this season as it was announced yesterday he had signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Leeds.

Kalvin Phillips, Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas, Luke Ayling, and Mateusz Klich have all penned new deals already this season.

Davis has been on the fringes of the first team this season–starting twice in the Carabao Cup and coming off the bench three times in the Championship.

He has been named in Marcelo Bielsa's last six matchday squads and has now featured in back-to-back games, so it appears the teenager has gained the faith of the Argentine coach.

The versatile defender is comfortable at both centre-back and left-back and has made nine appearances for the Whites in total since joining from Morecambe in 2018.

Davis took to Twitter to send a message to supporters after signing his new deal.

The 19-year-old's message has appears to have been well received by many Leeds fans, with some expressing their excitement on Twitter.
