‘Good luck’, ‘Gutted’ – These Swansea fans react to player news

Manchester United have signed Swansea’s Daniel James, with the flying winger signing a five-year deal with the Premier League side.

The 21-year-old was a star for the Welsh side last season, breaking into Graham Potter’s side and making a real impression with his incredible pace and ability to beat players.

That prompted interest from a host of top-flight sides but it’s United who have won the race for James, with the deal announced on the Swans official site.

Chairman Trevor Birch explained how the sale was necessary for the club as they gear up for a second successive season in the Championship and the drop in revenue that follows that.

However, many fans are not happy with how the club are run now under their American owners, with James just the latest big player to leave.

So, there was obvious disappointment at losing the youngster from the Swansea fans, although some recognised that this was a great opportunity for the Welsh international.

Here’s some of the reaction to his £18m move on Twitter…
