A new era begins for Derby County today following Phillip Cocu's departure as manager last week.

The Rams travel to Bristol City with a new man leading the team - and he just so happens to be England legend Wayne Rooney.

The player-coach is taking temporary charge of the team whilst the search for a new permanent manager continues, and that job may end up going to 'Wazza' if his time in charge is successful.

Despite being at the foot of the Championship table, exciting times are set to return to the iPro Stadium due to the impending takeover of Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family.

He will no doubt have his eyes firmly on the game at Ashton Gate, and Rooney has made changes to the last line-up that Cocu put out against Barnsley.

Krystian Bielik, Curtis Davies and Graeme Shinnie have all dropped out and in come Andre Wisdom, Max Bird and Duane Holmes to the starting eleven.

Derby are also without Kamil Jozwiak due to injury, whose pace will be a big miss against the Robins.

There's been a bit of a mixed reaction to Rooney's first Derby line-up, which you can see through the Twitter reaction below.
