Luton Town are closing in on a reunion with Nathan Jones, with the ex-Stoke City boss seemingly on his way back to Kenilworth Road under two years after departing.

The club parted company with Graeme Jones on the back of the EFL’s postponement, but with the resume of football seemingly drawing that little bit closer, Luton are on the verge of another appointment.

As reported by The Telegraph, it appears Jones will return for another stint in the Luton dugout, 16 months after he left the promotion-chasing Hatters to move into the Championship with Stoke.

The 7 question Luton Town Football Club quiz – Can you get all 7 correct?

Of course, Luton managed to win promotion without Jones, joining Stoke in the Championship for the 2019/20 campaign.

For a lot of this season so far, both Luton and Stoke have been battling against the drop, which cost Jones his job at the bet365 Stadium earlier in the season.

Since his departure, Stoke have seen an upturn in form, which leaves them in a much stronger position to avoid relegation, whilst Luton look in trouble in terms of relegation in the coming nine games.

And, despite so much success during his previous spell at the club, Luton Town fans are clearly torn over the imminent return of Jones.

Many are casting doubt on his ability to manage at Championship level given his spell with Stoke, whilst others aren’t convinced the wounds left following his exit have been properly healed.

However, there’s still some support for the 47-year-old.
