Plenty of Birmingham City fans have reacted on Twitter to Josh Dacres-Cogley's departure from the club.

As confirmed by the Blues' official website, the 23-year-old has joined Crawley Town on a season-long loan after agreeing a new contract which will keep him on the books at St. Andrews Stadium until 2021.

Dacres-Cogley recently started for Pep Clotet's side in the club's 3-0 defeat to Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup, and is set to join up with goalkeeper Michael Luyambula, who made a temporary switch to the Red Devils last month from the Blues.

The Birmingham academy graduate only featured on two occasions last season as he failed to force his way into contention for a starting role under then-boss Garry Monk, who opted instead to field Maxime Colin as his first-choice full-back.

Having now made the switch to Crawley, Dacres-Cogley will be hoping to make his debut for the League Two side when they face newly-promoted Salford City at The People's Pension Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking to Crawley's official website about the full-back, the club's Head Coach Gabriele Cioffi said: "I know Josh from my time at Birmingham and I think he is a young player with a lot of potential.

"He can play on the right or left, is athletic and physical and I am sure he will be a big asset to our squad."

After Dacres-Cogley's departure was announced earlier today, plenty of Birmingham fans took to Twitter to reacted to the news.
