on

Plenty of Ipswich Town fans have taken to social media to react to the news that the club have signed defender Josh Earl from Preston North End.

The 21-year-old has joined the Tractor Boys on loan until the end of the season and will be hoping to get his campaign back on track, after spending the first half of the season on loan at Bolton Wanderers.

Earl came through the academy at Preston and has made 36 appearances for the Lilywhites so far. The versatile defender has been used at both left-back and centre-back, making him a useful option for Paul Lambert to have in his squad.

The defender made eleven appearances for Bolton in the first half of the season, although an ankle injury impeded his progress.

Ipswich have confirmed that Earl took part in his first training session with his new teammates earlier today and it’s possible that he could make his debut for the Tractor Boys against Oxford Untied tomorrow evening.
