Wolves have confirmed the signing of 17-year old goalkeeper Andreas Söndergaard who has joined the club from Danish side Odense.

The teenager signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Molineux and has represented Denmark at various youth levels. The fee was announced as undisclosed although the Black Coutnry side are believed to have paid around £400,000 to land the stopper.

Whilst he was yet to make a first-team appearance in his homeland, Wolves had to see off serious competition for the highly-rated youngster.

Reports yesterday suggested that three Serie A clubs had shown an interest, including AC Milan and Juventus.

Given his age, Söndergaard will join up with the U23 squad at his new club for the foreseeable future but those involved at Wolves have high hopes for the youngster.
