Leeds United continued their impressive start to the new Championship season with a 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Thomas Christiansen’s men had won two and drawn the other two of their four league matches prior to their trip to the East Midlands at the weekend, and goals from Kemar Roofe and Ezgjan Alioski preserved their unbeaten start to the season, and propelled them up to third in the division as a result.

This all came after the Yorkshire outfit sold star striker Chris Wood to Burnley during the week, yet they showed no signs of struggle to remain one of just two second tier teams, alongside Cardiff City, yet to suffer a league defeat so far this season.

New boss Christiansen, who took over from Garry Monk over the summer, has been busy adding to his squad at Elland Road since taking charge, and on Sunday made yet another signing with the arrival of former Leeds goalkeeper Andy Lonergan on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old played for the Yorkshire club between 2011 and 2012 but has since been on the books at Bolton, Fulham, and more recently Wolves, yet returns to Elland Road following the departure of Rob Green, who moved to Huddersfield Town over the weekend.
