It has been a turbulent season for Jordan Stevens at Leeds United, with the midfielder rewarded with a new contract at Elland Road this evening.  

Leeds have announced the new two-and-a-half year deal for the teenager this Monday, with Stevens now looking to put a tough couple of months behind him after securing a contract until 2022.

Stevens was in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons back in September, when he was hit with a six-week ban from all football related activity after breaching gambling rules.

He placed 59 bets on football matches, including five involving the Whites according to the BBC.

However, he’s returned to the under-23s and is now pushing Marcelo Bielsa’s first-team.

Stevens, 19, was named on the bench for Saturday’s 4-0 win over Middlesbrough and many supporters are pleased with the news.
