Derby County made quite a few signings in the summer in an attempt to make a play off push in the 2020-21 campaign, but it's not exactly worked out that way so far.
Quite a few of the additions were on the cheap and on loan, but there was one deal that was done for quite a big outlay and that was the arrival of Polish winger Kamil Jozwiak.
The 22-year-old arrived at Pride Park for what transfermarkt reports as £3.9 million, and considering Jozwiak is a Poland international and netted eight times in the Ekstraklasa last season, it was a gamble worth taking.
Because they were signing a young internationally-capped talent, there was a lot of excitement from County fans when Jozwiak arrived, but how's he actually done in the white shirt of Derby. The numbers will say he's scored just once in 23 games and assisted twice, but he's played in every game he's been available for since Wayne Rooney took charge and has stayed on the pitch for the majority of the matches as well. His work rate is exceptional and he doesn't stop running, but supporters and probably Wayne Rooney will want to see him score a few more goals, or get into more dangerous positions. He does supply a good cross though and for a lot of the season there hasn't been anyone on the end of them - Colin Kazim-Richards is coming good though and Lee Gregory has also arrived to give Jozwiak another outlet. Rooney has brought more competition out wide in the form of Patrick Roberts so Jozwiak will have to step up to another level to keep his place, but he should have no trouble doing that and he could develop several levels higher in the next few years.
