‘God amongst men’ – These Nottingham Forest fans hail player following performance v Blackburn

Nottingham Forest’s good form in 2021 under Chris Hughton continued today following a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at the City Ground.
The game was settled in the first half as young starlet Alex Mighten fired home from the edge of the box to give Forest the lead.
That was far from the end of the action though, with a big flash-point coming late in the second half.
On 77 minutes, Blackburn’s flying right-back Ryan Nyambe was taken out inside the Forest box by goalkeeper Brice Samba, and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot.
Samba had to dust himself off as he had to come up against the prolific Adam Armstrong from 12 yards out, but unlike his success from the spot against Preston last week, Samba outsmarted the striker by palming away Armstrong’s effort to his right-hand side.

Blackburn pushed on in the final part of the game to try and make up for that failed penalty attempt, but it was to no avail as Forest hung on grimly for the victory.
And the hero in the end was Samba, even though he conceded the penalty he made up for it and then some – with Forest fans praising him on Twitter post-match – check out some of the reactions.
