Sheffield United’s lead at the top of League One was cut after the Blades were held to a one-apiece draw away to Oldham Athletic on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts began the match on the upper hand after Josh Law was unable to divert his header into the back of the net from a Lee Erwin cross.
Although Chris Wilder’s men fell behind just before the interval when the Latics’ Law put a cross into the box and Tope Obadeyi bundled home from just two yards out to give Oldham the advantage.
Jay O’Shea earned Sheffield United a draw when he equalised moments into the second-half. James Hanson linked with fellow January arrival Jay O’Shea who scored from inches inside the area.
With the match ending 1-1 and it being a fairly close affair between the two teams from either end of the table, the Blades have extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches now and have just a four-point cushion over second-placed Bolton Wanderers, who won their game.
Here is how United supporters reacted to the draw on Twitter….
Slightly disappointing result but absolutely awful pitch. Still 10 points clear of third, every game is a game closer. ????⚪️⚔️ #twitterblades

Does that goal earn Jay O'Shea a permanent deal #twitterblades? I would be happy to see him as a squad player in the championship.

Goal of the season contender from O'Shea is a positive, taken from a very tough game. Maybe a point gained, maybe two dropped #twitterblades
