Scott McKenna's future at SPFL side Aberdeen is still up in the air, after being constantly linked with a move away from Pittodrie throughout the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership, and was a reported transfer target from a host of high-profile clubs over the course of the summer.

Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers were among those to be credited with an interest in the central defender, who has offered some fairly intriguing quotes on his future in Scotland.

Speaking to Sportscene on BBC Radio Scotland (13/10, 11:20 pm), McKenna said: "I want to do my best for Aberdeen, and as most players, they want to move on in their careers, whether that be in January or sometime in the future."

It remains to be seen whether QPR or Forest look to reignite their interest in McKenna in January - the latter currently sit second in the Championship table, and have been solid in defence.

The likes of Joe Worrall, Michael Dawson, Chema and Tobias Figueiredo have all been regulars under Sabri Lamouchi this term, putting in a series of solid displays.

With Alexander Milosevic, Yohan Benalouane and Michael Hefele also waiting for their chance to step up and impress, is another centre-half needed at the City Ground?

Forest fans have been debating this on social media, and here, we take a look at their thoughts...
