Aston Villa closed the gap on the Championship top-six on Saturday with a much-needed win at home against Ipswich Town.

Before the game, they were slumped in mid-table and seven points behind sixth-placed Derby County but are now just four points away from Frank Lampard's side.

It was a win that can largely be credited to star striker Tammy Abraham once again, who the fans will be even more happy he decided to stay.

He opened the scoring within six minutes, finishing delightfully into the roof of the net from a Conor Hourihane cross.

The chance to add a second presented itself just after the hour mark when Alan Judge was pulled up for what looked like a very soft foul on John McGinn.

Nevertheless, Abraham cooly dispatched the penalty and, despite a late revival from the Tractor Boys including a stunning Freddie Sears strike, they held on.

It was a win that the fans will have badly desired and here is how they reacted at full time...
