Luton Town midfielder Glen Rea has predicted that the Hatters will be going on a positive run soon as they look to stave off relegation from the Championship.

Speaking to the official club website, Rea said: "There’s a run coming, I’m telling you.

"There is a positive run coming because everyone in there is on the same page and there is a positive run coming. The fans have been excellent again, travelling every week, so if we all stay together as a club we’ll be fine, I’m sure of it."

The 25-year-old made his first start of the season 13 months after suffering a serious knee injury, and after regaining his fitness while out on loan with National League side Woking, he returned to the starting XI for the 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

The Irishman has been a regular at Kenilworth Road since signing in 2016, and he has gone on to make 139 appearances, as he has gone on to play a large part in their rise up the leagues and into the second tier over the last few years.

At The City Ground, Harry Cornick fired in from Dan Potts' cross as the Hatters took a shock lead against their hosts, before a tame shot from Joe Lolley couldn't be kept out by Simon Sluga, as the ball squirmed underneath him and into the net.

Lolley got his second of the game when he drove in from the right and fired an effort in past Sluga, before Lewis Grabban made sure of the win from the penalty spot after a Sonny Bradley handball.

The Verdict

The 25-year-old clearly has a lot of belief in what he wants his side to achieve over the next few months.

The midfielder seems certain that a run will be put together by the Hatters over the upcoming games, and his belief is admirable as he makes his return from injury.
