The Sky Bet Championship season is fast approaching, with Bolton Wanderers amongst the clubs finalising their plans ahead of the new campaign.  

Phil Parkinson’s side take on West Brom on the opening day of the season, and have this afternoon confirmed the arrival of Jack Hobbs, who has spent time on trial at the Macron Stadium.

The 29-year-old centre-back has been a free agent since the end of last season, after he was released by Bolton’s Championship rivals, Nottingham Forest.

Hobbs had a four-and-a-half year spell at the City Ground, but struggled with injuries, particularly last season, as he was limited to just five appearances across all competitions.

Bolton have brought Hobbs in on a one-year deal now, as Parkinson finalises his plans ahead of the new season.

Following the confirmation of the centre-back’s arrival, there was plenty of reaction from Bolton’s supporters.
