Former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson was sent off for his new club Pafos FC over the weekend, which has drawn an interesting response from many fans of the Yorkshire club.

The 31-year-old was one of a number of senior players to leave Wednesday as a free agent in the summer, departing after making more than 150 appearances in his six years at the club.

The defensive midfielder joined Cypriot top tier side Pafos FC and made his third start of the season against APOEL, and former Owls teammate Atdhe Nuhiu, on the weekend.

Hutchinson's side picked up a 1-0 win against their league rivals through a late penalty but were not helped by the midfielder picking up a straight red card in the 51st minute.

The former Wednesday man can have no complaints about the decision as he got little of the ball and caught the APOEL player high on the thigh.

Seeing Hutchinson get his marching orders will be a familiar sight for the Hillsborough faithful, as the midfielder was sent off five times in total for the Owls.

Do Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United have these 10 things in common?

His first red card for his new side hasn't gone unnoticed by fans of the Yorkshire club, with many taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
