This time last year, Fulham were exactly where they wished they were right now, in the Premier League. Albeit in the relegation zone, ten points adrift and in the midst of a losing streak which would span nine games, Fulham fans were enjoying the visits of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and so on, and it was the latter who they played almost a year ago to the day.

Fulham hosted Chelsea a year ago yesterday as it goes, losing 2-1 after goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho. It was Scott Parker's first game as caretaker manager following Claudio Ranieri's inevitable sacking after 17 games at the helm, and three wins.

Relegation looked all but certain, and Parker even said after the Chelsea defeat that he was 'planning for the long term'. But despite the club's apparent expectation of Championship football this time around, they were enjoying their Premier League stint, and the players walked off the pitch to a standing ovation in Parker's first.

The game's talking point was the return of Kepa Arrizabalaga after his and Maurizio Sarri's comical showing in the Carabao Cup final, and he showed that day at Craven Cottage why Chelsea paid over £70 million for him with some fine saves to keep Fulham to the one goal.

Soon after the Chelsea game though, Fulham were inevitably relegated, and with five games to go. Parker went on to win three games in a row after the 4-1 defeat at Watford which sealed their fate, which proved enough to hand him the permanent job going into the Championship.

The angst among Fulham fans is much rifer now than it was then. They were simply enjoying seeing their club spend six-figure sums in the transfer window, playing the best teams in the world and travelling to some of the best stadiums.

Now though, with Fulham looking like they'll have to settle for a play-off spot, their Premier League forays of last year have quickly become something to critique and compare to rather than reminisce.

Here, we look back to that period in the FLW Rewind:
