Sunderland continued their fine start to the season with a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe in what was a very impressive showing from Jack Ross' men.

The former St. Mirren boss has made major changes to the nort-east club since he was appointed in the summer and he will be hugely encouraged by the performance.

Goals from Max Power, Josh Maja and Chris Maguire gave the side a three-goal lead at the break after a superb first 45 minutes.

And, that dominance continued throughout, with the Black Cats unlucky not to win by a bigger margin.

The victory moved Sunderland into the top six, with the side picking up seven points from their first three games as they look to bounce back to the Championship at the first attempt.

It also means they have recorded back-to-back home wins in the league after a torrid few years at the Stadium of Light.

Unsurprisingly, this result left supporters excited about what the season could bring.
