Sheffield Wednesday currently sit in the playoff places in the Championship table, and look well set to make another assault on promotion in the second half of the season.

Following last season's heartbreaking playoff final loss, the Owls have bounced back and could well be making the trip to Wembley again in May.

The club have invested heavily once more, and expectation is higher than ever at Hillsborough with the club expected to make it back to the Premier League in the not so distant future.

This season like most, has seen a few players though who don't always hog the limelight come up trumps week in week out, the sort of players who go under the radar and deserve more credit.

With this in mind, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at TWO Sheffield Wednesday players who deserve more credit this term...

Sam Hutchinson

Outside of the Owls, many fans do not realise just what a top player Hutchinson is.

The aggressive central midfielder - who also plays centre back -  has become a key member of the Owls first eleven, and looks every bit one of the finest players in the Championship.

He is a massive loss when he isn't playing for Wednesday, and he should be given far more credit for his overall game than he actually gets in the football world.

Ross Wallace

Despite all the star names and big money arrivals, the 33-year-old has managed to keep his place in the Owls team and crucially, keep contributing to the team in a positive way.

He has the habit of coming up with crucial goals in big games, and he is every bit a key member of the Owls squad.

Wallace might well be in the latter stages of his career, but he is still looking sharp at Championship level, and is one of the Owls' key men yet again this season.
