Phil Parkinson is facing increasing pressure for Sunderland's poor form, but he shouldn't face criticism alone.

The Black Cats have won just two of their last 10 games since Parkinson took over, leading them to be knocked out of the FA Cup and EFL Trophy, while also sending them to ninth place in League One.

While only two points off the top six, Sunderland are eight points off the pace in their hunt for an automatic promotion spot, meaning that many of the players are coming under pressure.

Performances haven't been great at the Stadium Of Light, but one man who has kept fans on side is Luke O'Nien.

The 24-year-old is one of the few players to come away from the season so far with any credit after displaying his versatility for the under-performing Black Cats.

Sunderland posted a happy birthday message to their star player on social media and attracted a number of responses from supporters who wanted to give O'Nien the credit that he deserves.

Here's what some supporters had to say.
