‘Give it everything’ – Preston supporters hopeful of causing huge cup upset

Published

Preston North End supporters have been issuing a rallying cry to Alex Neil’s side ahead of the Lilywhites’ clash against Premier League champions Manchester City at Deepdale on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup third round.

It appears to be a very daunting task facing North End as they look to stun last season’s Carabao Cup winners Manchester City, and Pep Guardiola’s side will be aware that they will be in for a battle against a Preston side buoyed by an excellent start to the Championship season, which sees Neil’s side sit in 3rd place in the table just a point off the top of the table.

Preston can be lifted by the fact that all of the pressure will be on Manchester City, especially after the way in which City demolished Watford with an 8-0 win on Saturday at the Etihad, and this represents a huge opportunity for Neil’s side to demonstrate the progress they have made this campaign against arguably the best side in Europe at the moment.

The Lilywhites’ supporters are hoping that their side can pull off a historic cup upset and they have been calling for their players to leave nothing on the pitch in the pursuit of a shock win on social media…
