West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi scored his first goal for the Baggies to secure a one-all draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage, which has excited many fans of the club.

Anthony Knockaert opened the scoring for the home side early in the second half, with his attempted cross looping over Sam Johnstone.

Ajayi grabbed the equaliser in the 80th minute, converting a loose ball from a corner to ensure Slaven Bilic's side didn't go home empty handed.

The draw sees the Birmingham club drop to sixth in the table, with 13 points from seven games.

The goal is the 25-year-old's first for West Brom after he arrived from Rotherham United in the summer.

Ajayi joined for a reported fee of £1.5 million on the back of an impressive few seasons for the Millers.

Due to the injury of Ahmed Hegazi, the Nigerian defender has started all of the Baggies' Championship games this season and helped them make an unbeaten start in the league.

The defender had an impressive goalscoring record for Rotherham, finding the net 13 times over the past two seasons, and Bilic will be hoping today's goal helps him recapture that form for his new club.

His performance seems to have gone down well with the Hawthorns faithful, with many of them taking to Twitter to express their appreciation.
