Birmingham City claimed a vital win against relegation rivals Rotherham United yesterday and many Blues fans have heaped praise on Steve Seddon after the game.

The game was Rotherham's fourth in eight days as they try to make up for their postponed fixtures earlier in the season and that showed as Birmingham captain Harlee Dean headed in a winner late on.

The result allows Lee Bowyer's side to climb up to 19th in the Championship and means they're nine points above the bottom three, though 22nd-placed Rotherham do have two games in hand over them.

With Bowyer at the helm, the Blues have taken 13 points from six games and now look on course to avoid the drop.

Seddon has been one of the players that has benefitted from the new manager's arrival, being handed his first Birmingham appearance of the season by him and now starting three of the last four games.

The 23-year-old spoke confidently to club media after the game, suggesting that the late winner was "icing on the cake".

He added: "I think when you come to any place you've got to match their work ethic and their commitment and we definitely did that.

"Then Robbo's put a ball in the box, little flick, and H has put it in."

Seddon's future is unclear as he's out of contract in the summer but he certainly seems to have impressed supporters recently.
