Luton Town succumbed to their third defeat of the 2019/20 Championship campaign last night at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday with one player's performance creating a great deal of debate on social media.

Signed for a club-record fee thought to be in the region of £1.34m (via BBC Sport) earlier this summer, Simon Sluga's mixed start to life in England continued at Hillsborough.

Although the Croatian goalkeeper made a number of eye-catching saves against the Owls, it was his misjudgement in the second-half which ultimately played a role in Kadeem Harris' goal for Lee Bullen's side.

Keen to launch a Luton counter-attack, Sluga tried to roll the ball out to Ryan Tunnicliffe yet the midfielder was slow to react and thus was tackled by Jacob Murphy.

After picking up the ball on the edge of the area, the winger delivered a devilish cross to Steven Fletcher who duly set up Harris for Wednesday's opener.

With Luton unable to deliver a response to going behind, the Owls secured the three points they needed to go top of the Championship standings.

Following Sluga's latest display for Graeme Jones' side, plenty of Luton fans took to Twitter to air their opinions on the 26-year-old.

Here are some of the best reactions from the club's supporters...

Given that his side can ill-afford any more errors due to the fact that they are currently in the Championship relegation zone, it will be intriguing to see whether Jones opts to stand by Sluga or decides instead to start James Shea against Barnsley on Saturday.
